Rio Grande Southern

The layout is loosely based on the narrow gauge Rio Grande Southern RR which ran from Ridgeway, CO to Durango, CO on the west side of the San Juan Mountains from the late 1800’s until 1952.

The layout operates from the town of Ridgeway, the RGS’s home terminal, southward to the towns of Placerville and Vance Junction and up the branch to Telluride/Pandora. ¬†Staging represents Rico and Durango to the south and Montrose to the north on the D&RGW.

Forwarding is managed with colored/labeled tags placed on the cars.
